COMBONI MISSIONARIES: Beatification Of Venerable Comboni Missionary

The ceremony of beatification of the venerable Fr. Giuseppe Ambrosoli (in image) will take place on November 20, 2022, Christ the King’s Feast, in Kalongo, Uganda, where he spent much of his missionary life serving as a doctor in the hospital he himself founded.

Father Giuseppe is still remembered today in Uganda as the doctor of charity. Thanks to his professionalism, his tireless dedication, his unwavering faith and his entrepreneurial spirit, during his thirty-two years of missionary work, Father Giuseppe managed to transform the small medical dispensary of Kalongo into a fit and modern hospital. Next to the hospital, he founded St. Mary’s Midwifery Training School, today officially recognized as one of the best obstetric schools in the country.

Shortly before his death, in 1987, he asked to be able to stay in Uganda among his people, to whom he had dedicated his life.
