Jan Havlik (in illustration), who died at the age of 37 from the consequences of torture in Soviet-era prisons, was proclaimed blessed in recognition of his faith and suffering. Jan Havlik, born in 1928 in Dubovce, Trnava region, Slovakia, was a member of the Missionary Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
