A vocation is a call that God extends to us, despite our mistakes and limitations, to which we are invited to respond with readiness, generosity, and joy. This was the process experienced by the apostle Peter.

Saint Joseph, through his humility, sense of justice, and complete trust in God and in the fulfillment of His will, is for us a witness of faith and a serene acceptance of God’s plan for our lives. As Pope Francis said, “Saint Joseph is a model for all vocations.”

Mary, the Lady of Yes, the Mother of Jesus, of the Church, and of all Humanity, is the Great Missionary of the Kingdom because her whole life was one of perseverance and faithfulness. She trusted in God and in His plan of salvation.

John the Baptist, known as the last prophet of the Old Testament, is for us Christians a unique witness of faith and love for God. His mission, lived faithfully to the end, was to be the precursor and messenger of Jesus, the Messiah.

The prophet Joel invites us to a conversion of heart and, with the power of the Holy Spirit, to be courageous prophets in today’s world.

The prophet Zephaniah speaks against foreign domination and moral collapse, warning of the coming Day of the Lord while calling the people back to justice, humility, and hope. His message offers a vision of a renewed community where the poor are defended and God rejoices over a faithful remnant.

Daniel’s life inspires us to be faithful to God in all of life’s circumstances, including difficult times. Everyone’s love for God must be present in every aspect and phase of our lives, because as Jung tells us, “the important thing is not to be perfect, the important thing is to be whole.”

The prophet appeals to us to change our ways, inviting us to accept God’s love and mercy in our lives and to witness, generously and without fear, to the Good News to all the peoples of the earth.

The vocation of the prophet Ezekiel inspires us to live our own vocation and mission with simplicity, in the certainty that it is God who calls and strengthens us.

The prophet Elijah was called to serve God. With great faithfulness and unwavering trust, he listened in silence to the Lord’s voice and proclaimed His Word. Elijah’s vocation and mission challenge us to reflect on our vocation, inviting us to live it without reserve.
