As I was preparing the contents of this article, I got inspiration from two documents of Pope Francis: his message for Lent 2024 and his apostolic exhortation on Confidence in the Spirituality of Saint Therese of Lisieux.
The season of Lent prepared us for the celebration of Easter, as we reflected on God’s selfless sacrifice. Amidst the anxieties of the world, Easter remains significant for believers, as it inspires joy and sharing.
The year 2025 will be a Jubilee Year. In the Catholic Church, jubilees are years of grace and pilgrimage which happen every 25 years.
Europe was the first continent to be evangelized. After the apostolic time, that was the work of the Benedictine monks like St. Patrick for Ireland, St. Boniface for Germany, the Saints Cyril and Methodius for the peoples of the East of Europe and of Russia.
