INTRODUCTION

The season of Lent prepared us for the celebration of Easter, as we reflected on God’s selfless sacrifice. Amidst the anxieties of the world, Easter remains significant for believers, as it inspires joy and sharing.

Lent had prepared us to walk towards a meaningful celebration of Easter. From Ash Wednesday to the Paschal Triduum, we had been accompanied by different liturgical celebrations to meditate on how God selflessly offered Himself for our salvation. We must acknowledge and be grateful for the parishes and Christian communities that provided opportunities for the faithful to cherish this momentous event of our faith. While non-Catholics may see the preparation for Easter as excessive in terms of resources, money, and time, we who believe in the Resurrection understand that there is no exaggeration or waste of resources when expressing our love for the Lord, who stretched out His arms on the Cross for His “beloved friends.”

In a time when depression, anxiety, and a lack of hope are prevalent, we are called to be like the disciples who recognized the Lord on the road to Emmaus. In the breaking of the Bread and sharing the Word of God, they recognized the Resurrected Christ. The Resurrection of our Lord invites us to bring joy to all whom we meet. As believers in the Resurrection, we have the privilege and responsibility to share the Good News in any circumstances of life. The challenge remains whether or not we will take part.

Our response should be personal and not forced by anyone or anything. Our commitment to spreading the Joy of Easter must be authentic and liberating. Without genuine motivation to follow in the footsteps of our Lord, one can easily burn out in their ministry and vocation. Easter allows us to reflect on the love of God, who forgives, heals, invites, and loves without questioning why. The Lord continuously invites all, especially the young people, to bring joy to the world, manifesting the first witness of His Resurrection.

In our formation community, we are blessed to witness the dedication of our seminarians to the kingdom of God. Every single day of their formation, they answer Jesus’ question to His apostles, “Do you love me?” with the response, “Lord, You know that I love You.” As an Easter community, we strive to practice forgiveness, faith, and selfless love in our actions. We are also proud to witness the commitment of some of our seminarians through their Profession of Religious Vows during the Easter season. This is an indication that the joy of Easter continues to inspire many to go beyond borders and
