In the bull for the Jubilee Year, Pope Francis proposes a full program of initiatives: to care for prisoners, to care for the sick and the elderly, to be signs of hope to the youth and to migrants, and to abolish death penalty.
Migrants send massive remittances, contributing to the economy and supporting thousands of families. Yet, the Filipino migrant endures unspeakable sacrifices, is vulnerable to exploitation, and experiences loneliness and depression due to separation from family.
Being foreign nationals in the Philippines, Am and Nhat find comfort in the striking similarities between Vietnamese and Filipino cultures.
