October, the missionary month, reminds us to pray for our missionaries and to reflect about mission. In his message for World Mission Day, Pope Francis highlighted three images from the Gospel passage about the disciples of Emmaus (Lk 24:13-35) that are helpful for our reflection on mission.
On January 1, 2023 Fr. Victor Manuel Aguilar Sanchez, MCCJ was appointed Delegate Superior of the Comboni Missionaries in Asia. He shares with us the story of his vocation.
“Ang Diyos ay pag-ibig” - marahil ito ay isang kataga na alam ng bawat sumasampalataya kay Hesukristo dahil alam natin na ang Kanyang dakilang pag-ibig sa sangkatauhan ang nagtulak sa Kanya na ialay ang sariling buhay sa krus para sa ating kaligtasan. Ang misyon ni Hesus ay ipadama sa sangkatauhan ang dakila at mapagligtas na pag-ibig ng Diyos.
Throughout his life Saint Daniel Comboni experienced many sufferings of all kinds. He came to the conviction that the works of God are born at the foot of the Cross.
The values of self-giving, of compassion and the call to serve others are acquired in the family. As we thank the Lord for the first profession of vows of John Baptist, Peter and Simone, we are grateful to their families for supporting them throughout this journey.
The World Youth Day 2023 will take place in Lisbon, Portugal from August 1 to 6. The theme for this World Youth Day is: “Mary arose and went with haste” (Lk 1:39). In his message in preparation for this gathering, Pope Francis said that Mary is “a model for young people on the move, who refuse to stand in front of a mirror to contemplate themselves.”
